Shepherd’s huts Reviews

Jade staying in the Artisan from 4th-7th November 2016

Wow! What an amazing place!  So peaceful and quiet, exactly what I needed!

Really enjoyed cooking breakfasts on the campfire and toasting marshmallows.  Tracy and James were so welcoming and attentive.  Could have stayed much longer but hope to return again in the future.

Simply amazing! 🙂

Erin & Ventci staying in the Forager from 15th-16th Oct 2016

What a wonderful place just to be content.  We loved our hut, the lighting and atmosphere.  The bed is so comfortable and shower so hot.

We used all three fires and cooked our food.

Everything was perfect and we will be back. 🙂

Henry & Grace staying in the Artisan from 28th-30th September 2016

We wished we could have stayed longer!  A perfect cosy couple of days in an incredibly beautiful setting.  A very warm welcome from all including the animals.  Despite some winds we still managed to get a fire going and toast our marshmallows!

Thanks so much  would love to come back. ♥

Claire & Kenzie (2 ½) staying in the Forager from 17th-20th Sep 2016

Finally a camping experience with none of the negatives!  Hot water! Ensuite! Mirror! Hand wash!  Hooray 🙂

We have had a wonderful holiday and I feel rested & relaxed especially after my phone ran out of battery 2 days ago…  My daughter has just loved it all, and I now have lovely memories of her here chatting with the cat and bossing the ducks around.  A highlight for her is that ducks do ‘poo’s’ which she is now telling everyone she meets!

Great days out to the beaches and farms, but lovely just pottering by the hut.

Many thanks for having us i hope we can return soon.

Gary & Emma staying in the Artisan from 10th-14th August 2016

We are very sad to be leaving “The Artisan” Shepherd’s Hut!  It has made the perfect cosy base for getting out and about to explore Dorset and beyond.

The fire was wonderful, thank you for the marshmallows!  This is such a beautiful spot and the views are just stunning! Thank you very much Tracy & James, we hope very much to return one day and stay again.

Lucjen & Lesley staying in the Forager from 7th-14th Sep 2016

From start to finish we had a wonderful experience.  Booking was simple with a very personal touch.

The location and hut were both fantastic.  The Forager is lovely inside, decorated very tastefully.  Having the cats and dog around was great and the ducks caused hours of hilarity!

Being outside for cooking and stargazing was a great experience and only enhanced the feeling of peace and relaxation.

Many thanks for your welcome and allowing us to share in your vision.

Sophie & Louise staying in the Forager from 2nd-4th Sep 2016

Tracy’s economic friendly approach to preserve and protect our natural environment has indeed inspired me.

Going back to basics it seems to bring us back to realisation that todays emphasis is purely a case of want rather than need in our daily lives in regards to homely comforts.

All the modern distractions are not a primary function in this shepherd’s hut, it helps me reflect internally rather than be distracted externally which is a modern occurrence in our daily lives.

For these reasons I have learned a lot and enjoyed my experience here in such cosiest accommodation it can be a real eye opener on the foundation of your relationship with someone.

Liz & Colin staying in the Forager from 24th-29th Aug 2016

The perfect spot to spend our bank holiday weekend as a base to explore the area by bike and car.

Cooking outside under the stars (we don’t remember seeing such beautiful night skies in the UK before)  Was magic and waking up to stunning views in the morning.

Forager hut has had everything we needed and was a cosy dry retreat when the usual bank holiday weather kicked in.

Had a delicious meal at the Acorn at Evershot.

We look forward to visiting again soon.

Natalie & Ricky staying in the Artisan from 16th-19th August 2016

Thank you to you both for such a wonderful stay!

The hut is beautifully decorated and very cosy in the evenings.

We were lucky with the weather and we enjoyed using the camp fire for cooking and making lots of tea!

We hope to be back again soon! 🙂 🙂

Lucy & Oli staying in the Forager from 15th-17th Aug 2016

The Forager hut is idyllic!

We’ve had such a peaceful couple of days admiring the picturesque views in a complete state of bliss.

The sun has been shining daily and we couldn’t ask for more.

The hut is quaint and the perfect size.  The bed was so comfortable and cosy.

Thank you for the little touches, the fire wood, the pot of marshmallows – all which added to the experience!

Can’t wait to return again.  Next time for longer!

Amber & Jessica staying in the Artisan from 12th-16th August 2016

We loved every minute of it.  Lovely hut, beautiful land really gives you time to embrace whats really important.

Couldn’t recommend this enough.

Simon & Fran staying in the Forager from 12th-15th Aug 2016

Such a perfect location, we were made to feel welcome by our hosts.  The Forager has everything you need plus a few quirky extras!

Lighting the campfire and cooking in the evening sun then under the stars was amazing!

The location is perfect for exploring this amazing part of the world.  We went fossil hunting in Charmouth (didn’t find any!)  Cycled from Dorchester to Weymouth and back then to Maiden Castle. Beaminster is a hidden gem and the Red lion is a must.  The views along the cliff tops along the coast are breathtaking.

Many thanks again to our hosts, will difinitly be back again soon.

Lizzie & Alex staying in the Forager from 8th-10th Aug 2016

We have had the most wonderful & relaxing time at Dorset Forest Garden.

The huts are decorated beautifully and have everything we need to have a lovely stay.  We will be back!

Tom & Katie staying in the Artisan from 7th-9th August 2016

We really enjoyed our ‘Secret Garden’ and the shepherd’s hut with its country charm and amazing peace and quiet.

Camp fired cooking, start gazing and big comfy bed = two very happy glampers! ♥

Jon & Sarah staying in the Forager from 5th – 8tht Aug 2016

we have had such a fabulous stay in the Forager Hut!

Thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside next to the campfire, cooking your lovely sausages and admiring the spectacular views.

The Forager is beautifully pointed and we love its quirkier elements!

Enjoyed your recommendations for local pubs particularly the Fox at Corscombe.

Hope to be back soon!

Sam & Penny staying in the Artisan from 5th-7th August 2016

We had such a lovely time staying here.  It is such a peaceful place and so relaxing.  We will definitely be returning and telling all our family and friends that they have to come and stay!!

Many thanks for a lovely weekend!

Pennie & Louie staying in the Forager from 29th July – 1st Aug 2016

What a wonderful & relaxing place!

We’ve had such a lovely long weekend down in Dorset and the Forager Hut made it extra special.  Every little detail has been thought about and we enjoyed living the outdoor life along with cosy warm fires (inside and out).

The visitors guide and local map really helped us plan our weekend and we spent all day at Lyme Regis in the sunshine.

Nothing beats waking up to these views!  We will definitely be back.  Thank you so much! 🙂

Helen & Nick staying in the Artisan from 29th-31st July 2016

We have had such a fantastic, relaxing weekend here.  Slept for hours in the most comfy bed ever!  Such a peaceful spot with just the chattering of the ducks.  This was just what we needed.  We will be back 🙂 Thank you

Emma & Matt staying in the Artisan from 25th-29th July 2016

What a beautiful shepherd’ hut!  It is everything we thought it would be & more.

We have had wonderful days out at beaches & at the Forde Abbey show.  We have eaten at lovely restaurants…just can’t say the same about our cooking on the fire (we do recommend the local chippy!)

Thank you so much for a lovely start to our holidays, it has been bliss!

Ben & Katie staying in the Forager from 25th-27th July 2016

We’ve had an amazing stay in the Forager!

The hut is decorated beautifully and everything you could possibly need for your stay has been thought of.

We have enjoyed the calm and relaxing environment, stunning views and cooking by campfire- perhaps also a few too many marshmallows!

On day two we hiked the coastal path from Burton Bradstock to West Bay and back again followed by a lovely meal at the Red Lion, Beaminster.  Great recommendation.

Thank you to our hosts for such a lovely stay, we will certainly be back again soon.

Mel & Ross staying in the Artisan from 18th – 21st July 2016

We booked the shepherd’s hut very last minute for a 3 night break.  The pictures on the website looked amazing and the hut absolutely delivered!  Totally exceeded our expectation!  The shower and bed were both super and the location was stunning!!

Have had a wonderful break!  Thank you!

Would definitely recommend to others and would love to visit again.

Tom & Caroline staying in the Forager from 15th – 18th july 2016

What a weekend it’s been!

Our hosts were lovely and welcoming, ensuring we had a great stay.

The views from our hut were truly spectacular.  Waking up to the rolling hills and beautiful countryside was worth the trip alone; and on our last night the moon and stars were as bright as I had ever seen.

After spending our days travelling from one great place to the next – Beaminster, Seaton, Lyme Regis, Burton Breadstick, Corscombe – walking, eating (and drinking) we have decided to return soon to see what other delights Dorset has to offer.

Sarah & Matt staying in the Artisan from 15th – 17th July 2016

We’ve really enjoyed our stay.  It’s a charming shepherd’s hut in a lovely spot.

Zach & Mich staying in the Forager from 12th – 14th July 2016

Amazing views and such beautiful scenery.  On our first night we managed to use the BBQ, and that itself was an achievement.

After a nice walk around Beaminster we ended up having a nice meal in the Red Lion.

I truly believe they have thought of everything here and would recommend to anyone!

Emily and John staying in the Artisan from 9th – 13th July 2016

We’ve had the loveliest trip away to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Beautiful surroundings and so much to see and do in gorgeous Dorset.  Particularly enjoyed West bay.  We will be back again!

Rachel & Alan staying in the Forager from 9th – 11 July 2016

What an amazingly tranquil few days it has been.

We’ve really enjoyed testing our campfire cooking skills with mussels and steak.  Had a fabulous, relaxed meal at the Red lion in Beaminster and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere at the Seafood Festival in Weymouth,  The hut is just perfect – everything we needed and lots of little homely touches that made it extra special – thank you.  Can’t believe how warm the little stove makes the hut – hope we’ll be back, maybe for an autumn break next time.

Jess & Kirsty staying in the Artisan 3rd – 6th July 2016

We booked this trip away for our 5 year anniversary.  The hut is absolutely stunning and had everything we needed and more.  It was so nice to escape our daily lives and be surrounded by nature.

We received a warm welcome and a little tour of the hut, and settled in with a hot cup of tea from the camp kettle.  It was so cosy inside with the log burner, and the bed was so comfortable!

We can’t wait to book again, it exceeded our expectations and they were already high after seeing the photos!

Winnie & Will staying in the Artisan 29th June – 2nd July 2016

Despite the changeable British Summer weather we spent a blissful three days in the rustic Artisan Shepherd’s Hut reconnecting with nature, exploring the beautiful county of Dorset and re-discovering the simple pleasures in life!

We enjoyed our hut very much, it was cosy and quaint and we appreciated all the thoughtful details and finishes our hosts fitted it out with.  We were able to cook three sumptuous gourmet suppers on the open fire and discovered a useful bellow in the tray!

And of course, the hot shower in the morning always helps!

Laura & Paul staying in the Artisan 10th – 12th June 2016

We booked this charming shepherd’s hut as a last minute get away for the weekend, and so happy we did as it’s been so lovely and calm.

Open fires for cooking and the cosy hut to sleep in, just what we needed for a chilled weekend.

Abotsbury gardens are worth a visit, and the beach at West Bay is beautiful.

We also made friends with one of the farm cats, who’s very sweet. 🙂

Emily & Alistair staying in the Artisan 3rd- 5th June 2016

We’ve really enjoyed our shepherd’s hut holiday

Such a beautiful spot and delightful finish.

Mr and Mrs Palmer staying in The Artisan from 1st-3rd june 2016

What a charming hut! We’ve had a lovely escape from the world here.

Thank you, we hope to return soon!

Mr and Mrs Cox staying in The Artisan from 28th -29th May 2016 –

This is an amazing hut, quiet, peaceful and beautiful surroundings.

The log burner kept us very warm and we created outside fires too – which also gave us a very nice breakfast.

Our stay was very homely and is something we would definatley do again and we will spread the word.

Help was available whenever we needed it and the owners were very friendly and welcoming.

Thank you very much.
